Merry Christmas, everyone. I hope good times are being had by all. This is my attempt at a Christmas gift for my fans. It’s the second song on album three. I went for a dreamlike sound as a contrast to Origami’s more lively fast running sixteenths.

I wrote something in an email reply to an awesome fan that I had never put into words before, but have felt for a long time. I figured I would repeat the sentiment here. I never realized until this year why artists always called fans their everything. You can’t truly understand it until you’re put in the position of artist and you have fans telling you how much your music means to them or how much they appreciate what you do. I only have somewhere near 800 fans according to my facebook fan page, which is not much at all really, but I have more platonic love for each and every one of them (and probably you too, if you’re reading this) than I ever thought I could have for relative strangers I’ve never met. Thank you.

growing up, I was social but
never was the type to open up
my closest friends were never close enough
I suppose to them, I was emotionless, so
my headphones were my constant companions
around my neck they were constantly hanging
and late at night when I'm haunted by phantoms
the songs I would jam would
subconsciously ban them
and damn,
I know it's just lyrics and beats
but lyrics to me are like infinite peace
and peace is what hip hop had brought me
strumming my pain like it was killing me softly
killing me, but what a way to die
overdosed on flows, comatosed on rhymes
and I
want to drift away
staying conscious enough just to hit replay.
